Brooklyn-based Sean Sato—originally from Shizuoka, Japan—makes his debut on DJ Pierre’s Afro Deep label with Cerebrality, an EP featuring three stellar deep cuts that instantly plunge the listener into an after hours-style mental rollercoaster.

We start off with the title track “Cerebrality”—a beautifully crafted mind trip of ethereal pads gliding in and out of four on the floor and broken beat, with a plodding, hypnotic acid line that draws the listener further and further down the rabbit hole of their own subconscious.

Next is “E8/LF”, a broken beat ride of masterfully soundscaped pads, driven by a jacking medley of claps, kicks, hats, and neatly paired with a deep acid groove.

“Strictly Speaking” rounds out the EP with the melding of a deep, jacking acid bassline and expansive pads and strings, escalating to a calmly rolling snare and formidable strings that immediately focus the listener while ensuring a steadily grooving dancefloor.
